Coupler Cylinder - Remove

Usage:

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".

  1. Disconnect any attachment tools from the quick coupler.


    NOTICE

    Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

    Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines.

    Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

    High hydraulic system pressure. To avoid personal injury, do not remove any hydraulic system lines, taps, or parts until all pressure has been relieved.

  1. Remove four bolts (1) and the washers that hold cover (2) to the quick coupler. Remove cover (2) from the quick coupler.

  1. Remove hose assemblies (3), (5) and (8) from fittings (4), (6) and (7). Plug and cap all the hoses and the openings in order to prevent contamination.

  1. Remove fittings (4), (6) and (7) from cylinder (9) .

  1. Remove dowel (11) from rod (10) at each end of cylinder (9). Slide pin (12) away from cylinder (9) in order to clear the end of rod (10). Remove the cylinder (9) from the quick coupler.
