Installation Procedure

1. Install O-ring seal (7) on the brake port.

2. Install O-ring seal (6) on brake piston assembly (5).

3. Install brake piston assembly (5).

4. Install three bolts (4) and the washers that retain brake piston assembly (5). The torque for the bolts is 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft).

5. Install O-ring seal (3).

6. Install Tooling (B) to the wheel, as shown.

7. Attach a suitable hoist and lifting slings to Tooling (B) and final drive, brake and wheel (1), as shown.

8. Use the hoist in order to install the final drive, brake and wheel (1) to the axle assembly. The weight of final drive, brake and wheel (1) is 770 kg (1700 lb).

9. Install bolts (2). The torque for the bolts (2) is 1000 ± 125 N·m (740 ± 90 lb ft).

End By:

1. Install the axle shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove and Install" for the machine that is being serviced.

2. Install the compactor wheels to the 836G. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Compactor Wheel - Install".

3. Install the front tires and rims to the 988G and 834G. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Front) - Install".

4. Install the rear tires and rims to the 988G and 834G. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Tire and Rim (Rear) - Install".
