Start By:
- Remove the final drive and the wheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive, Brake, and Wheel - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

- Use the hoist in order to remove planetary carrier (2). The weight of the planetary carrier is

Note: Leave the lifting slings and the hoist attached to the hub and the gear.

- Use the hoist in order to lift hub (13) from ring gear (14). The weight of the hub is

Note: Do not apply heat directly to the hub. Excessive heat may reduce the service life of the hub.
- Use a suitable torch in order to heat the bearing cone evenly around the circumference. Continue to heat the bearing cone until the bearing cone falls from the hub.

- To remove bearing cone (25) from spindle (24), turn the spindle onto the opposite side so that the bearing cone is facing downward, as shown.
