    Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.

  1. Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

  2. Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

  3. Install cover (7). Install clamp (6).

  4. Use Tooling (A) and a hoist in order to position accumulator (1) for installation.

  5. Install clamp (2) with three bolts (3), three washers and one nut.

  6. Install clamp (2) with three bolts (3), the washers and one nut.

  7. Install adapter (4) onto accumulator (1). Connect hose assembly (5).

  8. Fill the steering hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7173, "Steering System Oil - Change" for the correct procedure.

  9. Charge the steering accumulator with nitrogen. Refer to Steering Systems Operation/Testing And Adjusting , SENR1492, "Steering Accumulator - Test and Charge" for the correct procedure.
