Metering Pump (Steering) - Install
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.
- Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
- Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Illustration 1 g00496437 - Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of three bolts (14).
- Install plate (15), three bolts (14) and the washers onto metering pump (1).

Note: Position the elbows, as shown. This will ease installation.

45 kg (100 lb) . Install four bolts (8) and the washers.Note: Do not tighten four bolts (8) until the metering pump shaft is positioned correctly.
Note: Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound to the threads of nut (6) prior to installation.
- Install nut (6). Tighten nut (6) to a torque of
101.7 ± 2 N·m (75 ± 1 lb ft) . - Tighten four bolts (8).

- Refill the steering hydraulic tank with hydraulic oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7173, "Steering System Oil - Change" for the correct procedure.
