IT28G Integrated Toolcarrier Caterpillar


Battery, Battery Cable or Battery Disconnect Switch - Replace

Usage:

IT28G 8CR

  • Turn the engine start switch to the OFF position. Turn all switches to the OFF position.

    1. Remove the access panel for the battery on the left side of the machine.

    1. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. Remove the battery disconnect switch key.


      NOTICE

      Do not allow the disconnected battery cable to contact the disconnect switch.


    1. At the battery disconnect switch, disconnect the negative battery cable that is connected to the frame.

    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery.

    1. Perform the necessary repairs. Replace the cable or the battery, as needed.

    1. Connect the negative battery cable at the battery. Replace the battery cover.

    1. Connect the battery cable at the battery disconnect switch, if equipped. If the machine is not equipped with a battery disconnect switch, connect the negative cable to the frame.

    1. Install the battery disconnect switch key. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
