The resonator assembly is located in the oil supply line to the torque converter. The resonator assembly reduces the pressure variations in the supply oil. The resonator will reduce pressure variations to the torque converter. These pressure variations are caused by pressure pulsations from the pump. This will prevent instability in the transmission control valves. Instability is caused by large pressure variations and by violent valve chatter.
