Usage:

LOAD HAUL DUMPR2900-162 To 170, R2900 (5TW1-334) LOAD HAUL DUMP

With the bucket fully lowered and slightly crowded back, the 9EP1700 Lift Cylinder Group may contact gusset area (1) of the axle mounting casting as shown in Illustrations 1 and 2.

Reference: Maintenance Manual, RENR4700 (1DE0603), "Machine Repairs and Welding Procedure".

1. Manufacture a template as shown in Illustration 3.

2. Align the template to axle mounting face (2) as shown in Illustrations 1 and 4 to gauge the casting material to be removed.
3. Preheat the gusset area of the axle mounting casting to 150°C (300° F) to 200°C (390° F).
4. Arc air gouge the bulk of the material to be removed from the gusset area of the axle mounting casting.

NOTE: The axle mounting casting should be ground smooth, parallel and completely free of air arc gouges, slag and carbon.

5. Grind the axle mounting casting to the dimensions shown by the template.
6. Clean and repaint the axle mounting casting.
