Usage:
777D HAA (AGY1-UP) OFF-HIGHWAY TRUCK
Problem:
The grease lines that are mounted on hoist cylinder of the 777D (AGC) and 777D HAA (AGY) may be mounted with the grease lines oriented toward the rear of the truck. In this orientation, the grease line may be damaged.
Solution:
If the truck is in the predelivery state and does not have a body mounted on it, then rotate the barrel of the hoist cylinder such that the grease line is facing the front of the truck.
If the truck is already commissioned and operating and there are no indications that there is damage to the grease fitting and line, it is recommended to leave the line alone until such time that either the body is removed or that the cylinder is removed. At this time, rotate the barrel of the hoist cylinder so that the grease line is facing the front of the truck.
If the truck is already commissioned and operating and there is indication that the grease fitting and line have been damaged by material coming off of the tire, remove the hoist cylinder from the truck. Rotate the barrel of the hoist cylinder until the grease line is facing the front of the truck. Reinstall the hoist cylinder.

Illustration 1.
DO NOT RELOCATE THE LUG ON THE HOIST CYLINDER BY REMOVING IT FROM THE BACK OF THE CYLINDER AND REWELDING IT ON THE FRONT OF THE CYLINDER. This can result in damage to the internal bore of the cylinder barrel. If the grease line is routed above the pin joint, the grease line can interfere with bed. |
