Low Oil Pressure Alarm Switch

Usage:

ENGINES3508 (95Y) INDUSTRIAL ENGINES, 3508 (96Y, 69Z) MARINE ENGINES, 3508 (97Y) VEHICULAR ENGINES, 3512 (50Y, 66Z) MARINE ENGINES, 3512 (51Y) VEHICULAR ENGINES, 3516 (29A, 72Z) MARINE ENGINES, 3516 (28Z) VEHICULAR ENGINES

Problem:

Reports indicate that some 8T-9815 Pressure Switch Assemblies (low oil pressure) have been found to be loose. This can result in an oil leak. The 8T-9815 Pressure Switch Assembly is part of the attachment 7N-1896 Oil Pressure And Water Temperature Contactor Group. The illustration shows the location of the 8T-9815 Pressure Switch Assembly.

Solution:

Periodically check to be sure the 8T-9815 Pressure Switch Assembly is secure. The pressure switch should be tightened to a torque of 22.5 ± 2.5 N·m ±200 ( 22 in lb). A 9/16-inch crowfoot wrench may be required to tighten the pressure switch in the adapter.
