Problem:
Inability to adjust the position of the E-Stick pedal. In addition, reports of noise coming from the pedal linkage assembly have been received.
Solution:
Replace the fixed plate that is used as the linkage between the E-Stick pedal assembly and the control valve stem with the new adjustable rod assembly. See Illustration 1.

The parts and instructions that are needed to replace the E-Stick pedal linkage are provided in the table and the text that follow.
Replacement Instructions
- 1) Remove the current fixed plate that is used as the linkage between the E-Stick pedal assembly and the control valve stem. This is done by removing the two clips and the two pins that secure the plate.
- 2) Assemble the following components as shown in Illustration 2:
- * Ball Joint (7)
- * Rod (4), for 416C, 426C and 436C machines; or Rod (5), for 428C and 438C machines
- * Rod End (8)
- * Locknuts (2) - Qty. 2
- * Rod (4), for 416C, 426C and 436C machines; or Rod (5), for 428C and 438C machines
- 3) Adjust the length of the rod assembly for the machine that is being serviced. See Illustration 3.
- 4) Install the ball join-end of the rod assembly to the shaft assembly. Use washer (1) and locknut (6).
- 5) Install the rod end-end of the rod assembly to the stem of the control valve. Use pin (3) and clip (9).
- 6) Operate the E-Stick pedal in order to check for correct operation of the linkage. Re-adjust the length of the rod assembly if necessary.
- 7) Tighten nuts (2) to secure the adjustable rod assembly for the adjusted length.
