Problem:

Inability to adjust the position of the E-Stick pedal. In addition, reports of noise coming from the pedal linkage assembly have been received.

Solution:

Replace the fixed plate that is used as the linkage between the E-Stick pedal assembly and the control valve stem with the new adjustable rod assembly. See Illustration 1.

The parts and instructions that are needed to replace the E-Stick pedal linkage are provided in the table and the text that follow.

Replacement Instructions

1) Remove the current fixed plate that is used as the linkage between the E-Stick pedal assembly and the control valve stem. This is done by removing the two clips and the two pins that secure the plate.
2) Assemble the following components as shown in Illustration 2:
* Ball Joint (7)
* Rod (4), for 416C, 426C and 436C machines; or Rod (5), for 428C and 438C machines
* Rod End (8)
* Locknuts (2) - Qty. 2
3) Adjust the length of the rod assembly for the machine that is being serviced. See Illustration 3.
4) Install the ball join-end of the rod assembly to the shaft assembly. Use washer (1) and locknut (6).
5) Install the rod end-end of the rod assembly to the stem of the control valve. Use pin (3) and clip (9).
6) Operate the E-Stick pedal in order to check for correct operation of the linkage. Re-adjust the length of the rod assembly if necessary.
7) Tighten nuts (2) to secure the adjustable rod assembly for the adjusted length.
