Battery To Starter Motor Connection May Be Loose Caterpillar

Problem:

There have been reports of the battery to starter motor cable connection being loose at the starter motor. The loose connection could cause hard starting complaints and subsequent starter failures.

Solution:

When troubleshooting hard starting complaints or making other repairs to a machine, make sure that the cable connection to the starting motor is tight and that there is "slack" in the cable. If a loose connection is found, NACD dealers should please notify Caterpillar Ag Products at (815) 754-8426. Dealers outside NACD should contact their marketing subsidiary.
