Certain CS/CP-563C Compactors May Be Equipped With 12-Volt Electrical Relays Instead of 24-Volt Electrical Relays

Usage:

PAVING PRODUCTSCS-563C (4LN923-1088),
CP-563C (5KN306-384) PAVING PRODUCTS

Problem:

Certain CS/CP-563C soil compactors may have been equipped with electrical system relays that were 12-volt relays when they should have been 24-volt relays. Electrical system symptoms can be related to the following circuits:

Parking brake circuit
Neutral start circuit
Warning system circuit
Propel system interlock

If you have experienced electrical system problems related to these systems inspect your machine to verify that the relays are rated for the correct voltage.

Solution:

The relays are located below the propel control panel as shown in figure 1. Remove the four 8mm bolts and the propel control panel for access to the relays.

Figure 1.

There are 10 relays that must be checked. The relays are marked with a stamping on the front of each relay. The relays should be marked with part number 3E5239 (24V).

Replace all relays that are marked with part number 115-1615 (12V).
