Engine Vibration Due To Dirt In Fan Hub Caterpillar

Engine Vibration Due To Dirt In Fan Hub

Usage:

AGRICULTURAL TRACTORSCHALLENGER 55 (6NN, AEN, 7TZ, 3SM) AGRICULTURAL TRACTORS

Problem:

In service, the fan spider (center hub) on the Challenger 55 Agricultural Tractors can collect dirt. When the tractor is shut down for the day the dirt settles to the bottom of the fan hub and hardens. When the tractor is started next, the settled dirt throws the fan out of balance. This can cause an engine vibration.

Solution:

There is no product improvement being considered at this time. If this problem is encountered in service, shut the machine down and clean the dirt from the fan hub.
