Usage:
CS-433C (3TM1-542),
CP-433C (2JM1-469) VIBRATORY COMPACTORS
Problem:
117-7757 Propel Pump Drive Hubs may disengage from drive flange.
Solution:
The 117-7757 Hub provides engagement between the axle propel pump and the 117-7756 Flange, bolted to the engine fly wheel. Some of the 117-7757 Hubs have been incorrectly machined. These hubs were machined with threads in both sides of the hub. When both sides of the hub are threaded, the bolt in the hub cannot provide proper clamping force on the pump shaft. The hub may slide on the pump shaft and disengage from the 117-7756 Flange. This results in the loss of both the propel and vibratory systems. Damage to the flange teeth also occurs.
In the event of the loss of both the propel and vibratory systems, with charge pressure present, check the pressure in the propel and vibe system high pressure loop lines. If pressures do not rise above charge pressure, the pump drive hub should be inspected and replaced if necessary. The 117-7756 Flange should also be inspected at this time and replaced if necessary. The 117-7757 Hub is now being purchased from a new supplier. All incorrectly machined parts have been purged from inventory. Reference appropriate Service Manuals for pressure test procedures. Reference appropriate Disassembly & Assembly Manuals for removal and installation of the hub and flange.
