NOTE: | This Containment Program can be administered either before or after a failure occurs. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer and service rep. Obtain the service reps Goodwill Approver Code before completing the repair. EAME dealers should use their standard Industry Group specific goodwill approval codes. The Goodwill Approver Code must be included when submitting the claim. |
NOTE: | When reporting the repair, use "PS90966" as the Part Number and "7777" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as Warranty Claim Description and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The existing bearing for the rear and center A-frame suspension group may prematurely wear or fail on certain 745 Articulated Trucks. If the existing A-frame bearing fails, it will damage the machine frames. |

Note: 1.0 labor hour allowed to perform the static torque check on the ?A? Frame bolts. If needed, 39.0 additional labor hours are allowed to rework the centre and rear A-Frame bearing housings. Note: A maximum of $2,000 US Dollars will be allowed to machine the A-Frame Head housings. |
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
1. Perform the static torque check on the A-Frame bolts, using following procedure: 1.1. Use a tooling that has an open ended spanner jaw which enables access to the bolts (See Image 1.1.1). |

1.2. Set the torque wrench to the static torque spec of 48 N.m (See Image 1.2.1). |

1.3. Check each bolt on the head of the A-Frame (See Image 1.3.1). Note, depending on how the machine is sitting, this may not be possible to access one of the bolt but if all the other pass the test then the joint will be OK. If the test is not successful, perform step 2. |

2. If the test was not successful, rework the A-frame bearing housing as described in M0102727, Special Instruction, "Rework Procedure for A-Frame Bearing Housing on Certain 700 Series Articulated Trucks". Note: Ultra 5 Moly grease is the recommended first choice of grease for all applications and for all bearings covered in the OMM - "Maintenance Interval Schedule". |
