The existing bulkhead connectors and fan drive mounting bolts may not be tightened to the correct torque on certain 24 Motor Graders. If the existing bulkhead is not tightened to the correct torque and loosens, hoses may rub and/or fitting connections may come loose, which could lead to a hydraulic leak. If the fan drive mount loosens, hydraulic leaks or fan damage could occur. |
No parts needed for this program |
Read the OMM and ensure proper machine operation is understood before performing any work. Make sure the machine is parked on flat ground and is in a safe working position prior to performing rework. The Articulation lock bar should be installed.
Hitch bulkhead nuts should be tightened to a torque of 350 Nm. Fan drive mounting bolts should be tightened to a torque of 460 Nm.
No disassembly required for bulkheads is required to tighten the bolts to the correct torque with a wrench, but low tool access. May be difficult with tires and articulation cylinders on the machine. Fan drive inspection will require opening up the grill on the back. |
