PROBLEM
The sealed adapter group was recently introduced on certain 795F AC Off-Highway Trucks. If other downstream components were not inspected and replaced accordingly at that time, driveline vibration will result. Productions fixes may not have been in place for ERM00294-300 and the 1S-7408 o-ring may have been installed at the factory. |

ACTION REQUIRED
For Affected Product, ERM00294 through ERM00300, remove the 1S-7408 o-ring if it is present. Refer to Special Instruction, REHS8626, "Procedure to Update the Generator on 795F AC Off-Highway Trucks". Refer to Special Instruction, SEHS0307, "Procedure to Improve the Generator Mounting Group on the 795F AC Off-Highway Truck". 1. Check alignment of torque witness marks on the yoke retention bolt and plate to see if there is movement in the bolt. 2. Check to see if yoke appears to be loose in the radial or axial direction. Do not remove the plate or bolt for this check. 3. Remove the generator yoke. 4. Check for a wear step or damage on the generator shaft spline teeth or yoke. 5. Measure and record Runout (TIR) of the generator shaft and compare with previous readings to check for degradation. 6. Check for a wear step on the sealing ring or yoke abutment face. Replace if necessary. 7. Look for damage to the shaft threads or any abnormal wear. Clean the generator shaft threads and inspect for any damage visually and by threading a new bolt in. 8. Inspect the condition of the mounts: any material extrusion, excessive compression set, oozing, etc. Replace if necessary. 9. Install the yoke per REHS8626. |
