PROBLEM
The software needs to be updated on certain 797F Off-Highway Trucks. The existing engine software does not provide appropriate warning to the operator when a 1684-12 "High Pressure Fuel Pump Failure" Diagnostic Code is logged. Additionally, the existing engine software does not appropriately derate and protect the engine when two or more -7 injector codes are active on one bank. The existing chassis software has nuisance software events that may cause the machine to be taken out of production unnecessarily. Also, the chassis software will allow for the machine to be operated above first gear with the body up which may cause frame damage. The existing transmission software odometer value will not roll over to zero when the value reaches the maximum of 320000 km, which may cause TPKH to not function. Additional software files should be updated to support new events, diagnostics, and features. |

ACTION REQUIRED
1. Download a Product Status Report (PSR) via ET before flashing software and include it as an attachment with the SIMS entry. 2. Compare installed software with latest available software. 3. Download and install all software that is not the latest available. 4. Download a Product Status Report (PSR) via ET after flashing the new software and include it as an attachment with the SIMS entry. Note: Transmission File is only required to be updated if the machine uses TKPH. Note: Transmission Calibration is NOT required IF updating from 491-6722 flash file. Note: Always use the latest software available. Sometimes the flash file part numbers are updated before the program terminates.
