PROBLEM
The existing torque converter guard can crack through the bolt holes on certain 797F Off-Highway Trucks. If the existing torque converter guard fails, it can cause unplanned down time. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to the Service Manual if/as required. Replace the torque converter guard with a new 481-0540 Torque Converter Guard. The 146-7378 Plate Assembly must be updated or replaced to include an additional mounting block (see A in Image1 and Image2) for the torque converter guard. See Image3 for block dimensions and Image4 for weld call out for the additional block. NOTE: Part numbers 7X-2561, 8T-4123, 149-0847 should only be replaced if damaged. Otherwise remove from former guard and reuse. |
