New Head For Dozer Tilt Cylinders And Change To Head For Ripper Lift Cylinder Assure Oil Flow Through Bypass In Piston. Torque Increased For Piston Nut In Dozer Tilt Cylinders{5102,5104}

Usage:

10S (79W) Bulldozer (Straight Blades);
10U (80W) Bulldozer (Universal Blades);
D10 (84W, 76X),
D11N (4HK, 74Z),
D11R (9TR, 8ZR) Track-Type Tractors

Description of Change: A new head replaced the former head for dozer tilt cylinders. Also, the head for ripper lift cylinders was changed.

Oil passage (B) in head (3) has been relocated to prevent plunger (C) of the bypass valve in the piston from lining up with oil passage (B). (See Illustrations 1 and 2).

The torque for piston retaining nut (A) for dozer tilt cylinders was increased from 6100 ± 410 N·m (4480 ± 300 lb ft) to 8000 ± 800 N·m (5920 ± 590 lb ft). The increased torque will prevent the nut from coming loose.

Adaptable To: New 149-2363 Head (3), having relocated oil passage (B), replaced former 9T-5271 Head, effective with engineering changes for dozer tilt cylinders shown in Chart A.

The increased torque, 8000 ± 800 N·m (5920 ± 590 lb ft), for piston retaining nut (A) was effective with 9T-3715 Dozer Tilt Cylinder (Eng. Chg. 12) and 9T-3716 Dozer Tilt Cylinder (Eng. Chg. 12). The following dozer tilt cylinders are adaptable:

1U-2711 (Eng. Chgs. 07-Up)
4T-3210 (Eng. Chgs. 04-Up)
4T-3211 (Eng. Chgs. 03-Up)
4T-3211 (Eng. Chgs. 03-Up)
9T-3716 (Eng. Chgs. 06-11)

NOTE: An engineering change number (Eng. Chg.) indicates effectivity of this improvement or adaptability to earlier cylinders. The cylinder part number, engineering change number, and date of manufacture are on the cylinder tag.

Engineering Change (07) of 9T-3968 Head, having relocated oil passage (B), is effective with ripper lift cylinders shown in Chart B.
