Description of Change: Effective with the machine serial numbers 8BM00248 and 6TN00133, 132-2145 Tandem Propel Pump Group, which is still serviced, has been replaced by 151-7479. The 132-2145 Pump Group consists of 106-1131 Right-hand (Outboard) Pump Group and 106-1132 Left-hand (Inboard) Pump Group. These pump groups use a 153-1043 Electronic Displacement Control (EDC) Group. In this group the EDC has two tank orifices and one 0.8128 mm (0.032 in.) control orifice in it. The new group 151-7479 consists of 161-8556 Right-hand (Outboard) Pump Group and 161-8557 Left-hand (Inboard) Pump Group. These pump groups use a 161-3922 EDC. The EDC has no tank orifices or control orifice in it. This change was made to help increase pump response time. This replacement EDC is compatible with both pump groups and should be used when servicing them. Therefore, if servicing the 132-2145 Tandem Pump Group with the 161-3922 EDC replacement, one of two actions must be taken:
A. The orifices from the 153-1043 EDC replaced must be removed and installed into the tank ports and control port on the new 161-3922 EDC. The tank ports and the control orifice port are called out in the following photograph for reference. Note: This step must be done when servicing serial number 8BM1-130 and 6TN1-118. The propel pumps in these units have pressure limiters and require the tank orifices to be in the EDC.
B. The replacement 161-3922 EDC, with no orifices, can be installed on the 132-2145 Pump Group. However, if this is done, it is necessary to remove the tank and control orifices from the 153-1043 EDC on the other pump.
NOTE: It is critical that one of these two actions be taken so both pumps are consistent. If both pump EDCs do not have the same configuration, the pumps will not have the same response. This will cause the machine to operate incorrectly.
