Description of Change:

Reference: Service Magazine; June 15, 1998; Page 4; "Improved VIMS Configurations Available For Certain OFF-Highway Trucks".

The temperature sensor has been improved internally in order to provide better reliability in extreme environments, such as the rear aftercooler coolant temperature application of the 793B Off-Highway Truck. A related VIMS on-board software improvement that is significant to the application of these sensors was a change in 9.5X configuration software that defines what is considered a sensor failure. The configuration software improvements are explained in the referenced article.

Adaptable To:

The improved 100-3055-01 (July 27, 1998, numeral date code format MKNKDO or later), 100-3055-02, 118-7226-01 (July 27, 1998, numeral date code format MKNKDO or later) and the 118-7226-02 Temperature Sensor Groups are effective with the 784B (5RK 00026), 785B(6HK00960), 793C(4AR00402) and 789C(2BW00001) Off Highway Trucks and are applicable to all other VIMS machines.
