Brake Purge Ports Added To Improve Brake Serviceability {4251}

Usage:

24H (7KK) Motor Graders

Description of Change: Two brake purge ports have been added to each brake group. The new ports allow the brakes to be purged with the tires mounted.

Adaptable To: The new 118-4907 Housing, two additional 9S-8004 Plugs, and two additional 3J-1907 Seals are effective with 24H (7KK49) Motor Graders and are adaptable to all earlier machines.

NOTICE

Contamination of the brake system by metal filings may result in brake system damage. Take steps to prevent brake system contamination if performing this modification on an assembled brake system.

NOTE: Repeat this procedure for four brake groups.

1. Drill and machine two holes in 118-4907 Housing as shown in Chart 2 and Illustrations 1 and 2.

2. Install two 9S-8004 Plugs (1) and two 3J-1907 O-Ring Seals in 118-4907 Housing as shown in Illustration 3.
