Usage:
793 (3SJ),
793B (1HL),
793C (4AR) Off-Highway Trucks
Description of Change: To prevent slippage of the thrust washer, the new 140-8932 Thrust Washer design utilizes four tangs as opposed to the retaining screws previously used. The tangs of the inner thrust washer, located between the wheel bearing retaining plate and the first reduction planetary carrier, engage slots in the planetary carrier. The tangs of the outer thrust washer, located between the second reduction planetary sun gear and the cover, engage slots in the cover.
Adaptable To: This change is effective with 793C (4AR138) Off-Highway Truck. This change is also effective with 0R-8595 Remanufactured Wheel & Final Drive Group. The 140-8932 Thrust Washer is adaptable to the former 8X-0252, 107-3152, 113-4328, 125-6508, 135-7121, 0R-3818 and 0R-8287 Wheel & Final Drive Groups, by two methods. The first method is to add slots to the 7I-5595 Carrier and the 7I-5594 Cover. The second method is to replace the existing 7I-5535 Thrust Washers, 7I-5594 Cover and 7I-5595 Carrier with the new 140-8932 Thrust Washers, 141-0202 Cover and 141-0203 Carrier. The procedure and parts requirement for each method are included in this article.
