Implement Status Switch Harness Modifications {1408,7490}

Usage:

Challenger 65C (2ZJ),
Challenger 70C (2YL),
Challenger 75C (4KK),
Challenger 85C (9TK) Tractors

C-Series Challengers are now equipped with Deutsch connectors. Challenger A and B-Series are equipped with Sure-Seal connectors. The 8T-8652 Implement Status Switch Kit Harness As. has a Sure-Seal connector so therefore it can only be used on A or B Series Challengers. This switch is mounted on the implement and indicates to the performance monitor whether the implement is engaged in tillage operations. Modifications must be made in order to use the switch on C-Series machines.

To modify the 8T-8652 Implement Status Switch Kit, follow either of the options listed below.

Illustration 1. 8T-8652 Implement Status Switch Harness modification for Challenger C-Series

Option 1. If the customer owns both a pre-C-Series tractor and a C-Series tractor, an adapter harness is necessary so that the implement with the switch can be used with A, B or C-Series Challengers. The dealer should fabricate the harness assembly. See Illustration 1 and Chart A. The adapter harness allows the switch with the Sure-Seal to plug directly into C-Series wiring.

Option 2. If the customer owns only C-Series tractors, the Sure-Seal connector can be removed from the harness in the 8T-8652 Implement Status Switch Kit. The Sure-Seal connector can be replaced with a Deutch connector. See Chart A for part numbers of replacement connectors. Use only Items 1, 2 and 3.

NOTE: The implement status switch will not function unless the machine is equipped with a performance monitor.
