Usage:
1. Drain the oil from the steering system.
2. Remove relief valve (1) from valve body (2).
NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the steering relief valve.
3. Install relief valve (1) into valve body (2). Tighten relief valve (1) to a torque of 65 ± 5 N·m (48 ± 4 lb ft).
4. Fill the steering system hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. See the Maintenance Manual.
Disassemble & Assemble Steering Relief Valve (Backup)
Start By:
a. remove steering relief valve.
1. Remove O-ring (6).
2. Remove O-ring seal nut (2) and two O-ring seals (3).
3. Remove nut (2), gasket (3), and the setscrew.
4. Remove two washers (4), spring (5), plate (7) and valve (8).
NOTE: The following steps are for assembly of the steering relief valve.
5. Install valve (8), plate (7), spring (5), and two washers (4) into the body.
6. Install O-ring (3) on retainer assembly (1). Install retainer assembly (1) and O-ring seal nut (2). Torque O-ring seal nut (2) to 50 ± 7 N·m (37 ± 5 lb ft).
NOTE: The minimum inspection torque for O-ring seal nut (2) is 38 N·m (28 lb ft).
7. Install the other O-ring seal (3).
8. Install O-ring seal (6).
