Usage:
1. Use tool (A) to remove oil filter (3) from the oil filter base.
2. Remove two bolts (1) and oil filter base (2) from the cylinder block.
3. Remove plug (6), spring (4) and the valve from oil filter base (2). Check the condition of the O-ring seal on plug (6). If necessary, replace it.
4. If necessary, remove stud (5) from the oil filter base.
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the oil filter and base.
5. If the stud was removed from the oil filter base, put 9S3263 Thread Lock only on the threaded end of stud (5) that is to be installed into the oil filter base.
6. Install stud (5) in the oil filter base, and tighten it to a torque of 68 ± 7 N·m (50 ± 5 lb.ft.).
7. Install the O-ring seal on plug (6).
8. Install the valve, spring (4) and plug (6) in the oil filter base.
9. Install the O-ring seal on oil filter base (2).
10. Put oil filter base (2) in position on the cylinder block, and install bolts (1) that hold it.
11. Install oil filter (3). Follow the instructions on the filter. See the Maintenance Guide for the correct service intervals.
