Lifting Capacity Decal Needs To Be Changed On 5P7279 Lifting Hook Assembly Caterpillar

Problem

Lifting capacity decal needs to be changed on 5P7279 Lifting Hook Assembly. The lifting capacity of the 5P7279 Lifting Hook Assembly has been decreased. The 5P7279 Lifting Hook Assembly was originally developed as an aid in removal and installation of various part groups on Track Type Tractors. The usage of this tool has expanded and should not be used above its new rated capacity.

Action Required

It is required that all dealers and users remove the existing decal and install the new decal (form number NEEG2014). The decal can be ordered the same way as literature. The WLL (Working Load Limit) are as follows:

The 5P7279 Lifting Hook Assembly has been canceled and cannot be ordered through the parts system. Two new versions are under development and will be available later this year.

Service Claim Allowances

Submit one claim for all 5P7279 Adjustable Hook Assemblies being re-decaled. A maximum of one hour will be allowed for each 5P7279 Adjustable Hook Assembly that is re-decaled.

Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
