NOTE: This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI3997" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI3997" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

The High Pressure Turbocharger on certain 793C Trucks can have a shortened service life due to boost leaks at the compressor housing and compressor seal leakage.

A new turbocharger contains improvements to these components to increase the service life. Also the air inlet pipe and adapter have been improved to prevent boost leaks with the addition of a new high temperature o-ring.

Remove all 1340386 Turbocharger Groups and all 1349527 Turbocharger Cartridges, 7E2345 Adaptors, 7E2344, 1078722, and 1378231 Pipes, and 9Y6663 and 1378268 Couplings from Parts Stock.

Affected Product

Remove the existing high pressure turbochargers, pipes and adapters and install the new turbochargers, pipes, adaptors and high temperature o-rings.

Submit one claim for all 1340386 Turbocharger Groups, 1349527 Turbocharger Cartridges, 7E2345 Adaptors, 7E2344, 1078722, and 1378231 Pipes, and 9Y6663 and 1378268 Couplings from Parts Stock.

Affected Product

NOTE: CACo dealers use serial number 99Z00621 when submitting a claim on repairs to spare engines.

Parts Disposition

Return all 1340386 Turbocharger Groups and all 1349527 Turbocharger Cartridges removed from Parts Stock to:

Handle all other parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
