Caterpillar now provides parts support for previously non-supported custom parts in the above 3600 diesel engines. These custom parts consist of parts without Caterpillar part numbers on the engine prints. The process for ordering a custom part is as follows:

1. The customer will order the new part from the Caterpillar Dealer.

2. The Caterpillar Dealer will contact the 3600 Diesel Customer Services Representative, Phone (765) 448-5317.

3. The customer service representative will provide a lead time, price, and a Caterpillar part number to the dealer so the part can then be ordered through normal channels.

4. Once a custom part has been assigned a Caterpillar part number, that part will then be supported through the normal Caterpillar parts system.

5. Periodic updates of newly released parts will be identified in future Engine News articles.

NOTE: Urgent orders may need to be procured by the dealer or the customer directly from the supplier if the part has not previously been set up in the Caterpillar parts system.

The following chart identifies custom parts that are available in the Caterpillar parts system.
