Description of Change: Several new components are used in the particle sensor group on these engines. These components include a new metal particle detector and a new valve. The new metal particle detector contains a more sensitive grid for improved effectiveness. The Reference Article contains information about the more sensitive grid as well as information about servicing the new metal particle detector. The new valve allows servicing of the new metal particle detector with the engine running. The new valve also reduces the amount of oil that is drained during servicing of the metal particle detector.
Adaptable To: The Illustration 1 and Chart A identify the new components in the improved 144-7647 Particle Sensor Group. This particle sensor group is used on all of the above engines except the 3618. Illustration 2 and Chart B identify the new components on the improved 155-6407 Particle Sensor Group which is used on 3618 Engines.
