Description of Change: A new seal group and O-ring seal are used in the water pump groups on these engines. The new seal group and O-ring seal are more compatible with higher temperatures.

Adaptable To: The new 118-8086 Seal Group and 118-8706 O-Ring Seal are direct replacements for the former 7E-4355 Seal Group and 8F-8882 O-Ring Seal in the 7E-3172 and 7E-8179 Water Pump Groups. The former seal group is canceled.

The new seal group and O-ring seal are effective with 7E-3172 Water Pump Group serial number 841. The 7E-3172 Water Pump Group is used on the "in-line" engines. The new seal group and O-ring seal are effective with 7E-8179 Water Pump Group serial number 790. The 7E-8179 Water Pump Group is used on the "vee" engines. The chart identifies the engine effectivity of the new seal group and O-ring seal.
