Part Number And Application Guide For Oil, Fuel And Transmission Pressure Senders And Water Temperature Senders{1924}

Usage:

3116 (4KG, 1SK),
3126 (8NM),
3208 (4NG, 75V, 01Z),
3304/3304B (13E, 8XL),
3306/3306B (7MF, 9SL, 84Z) Marine Engines

The following chart provides a VDO-Yazaki Corp. to Caterpillar part number cross reference for the oil, fuel and transmission pressure sendors and water temperature senders used on these marine engines. The VDO-Yazaki Corp. identification number is stamped on the sender nut. The chart also provides the senders pressure rating, type (single or dual station) and application.

Determine that the engine oil pressure sender is the correct one;

* If a dual station oil pressure sender is installed instead of the correct single oil pressure sender, the pressure will read low by one half of normal.
* If a single station oil pressure sender is installed instead of the correct dual oil pressure sender, the pressure will read two times higher than normal.
* If a 1034 kPa (150 psi) oil pressure sender is installed instead of the correct 551 kPa (80 psi) oil pressure sender, the pressure will read low by one half of normal.
* If a 551 kPa (80 psi) oil pressure sender is installed instead of the correct 1034 kPa (150 psi) oil pressure sender, the pressure will read two times higher than normal.

NOTE: The oil pressure sender or the gauge could also malfunction. Using a calibrated gauge and continuity meter will determine those problems.
