Radiators Made With Improved Brass Composition To Add Strength At Crimp Joint{1353}

Usage:

3054 (6FK2560-Up),
3056 (1ML1546-Up) Industrial;
3054 (4ZK5097-Up),
3056 (7AK2560-Up) Generator Set Engines

Description of Change: Radiators in the above engines are now made with an improved brass composition. The new brass composition resists cracking at the crimp joints which hold the top and bottom tanks to the radiator core. Prior to the introduction of the new brass composition, cracking and leaking at the crimp joints had occurred. This was due to chemical corrosion caused by preservatives used inside the engines being shipped overseas or headed to long-term storage.

Adaptable To: Effective with the above serial numbers, 103-6709 and 104-2564 Radiator Assemblies in the above 3056 Engines and 101-7531 Radiator Assembly in the above 3054 Engine will contain the new 85-15 brass composition.

NOTE: Radiator part numbers have not changed with the alteration of brass composition.

NOTE: The new radiators are adaptable to engines with serial numbers previous to the above serial numbers.
