Formed Rubber Hose Replaces Cast Iron Elbow In Radiator Groups; Be Sure To Use The Correct Water Temperature Regulator{1353}

Usage:

3306 (64Z),
3306B (7JB) Industrial, 3306 (85Z) Generator Set Engines

Reference: Engine News, January 1996, Page 7, "New Water Temperature Regulator Available"

Description of Change: A formed rubber hose can be used to replace the former cast iron elbow in the standard capacity and high capacity radiator groups used on these engines. Vibration of the former cast iron elbow could result in cracking around the radiator bottom tank outlet. Installing the new formed rubber hose will help prevent these cracks.

Location of the new 7C-8482 Hose in radiator group.

Adaptable To: The new 7C-8482 Hose can be used to replace the former 3N-6033 Hose, 6L-4855 Hose, and 3N-2669 Elbow in the 3N-4657 Standard Capacity Radiator Group and 3N-2790 High Capacity Radiator Group on these engines. The new 7C-8482 Hose must be trimmed to fit correctly.

When replacing the former components, retain two of the four 9M-7959 Clamps on the former components to fasten the new hose.

The new 111-8010 Water Temperature Regulator has a low leakage rate and eliminates pressure pulses in the cooling system. See the Reference Article. Be sure to replace the former 7E-3361, 7E-3362, or 9Y-4000 Water Temperature Regulator in these engines with the new 111-8010 Water Temperature Regulator.
