On certain XQC1600 PM3516 generator sets using the 430-8990 Generators, the generator body may crack in the weld between the drive end stator ring and generator shell. In some cases, this crack may propagate to the generator shell.

The 243-1512 Inner Coupling may also be cracked.

Solution

If generator or coupling cracks are found, have the Dealer Technical Communicator (TC) report the findings by submitting request to CPI number 444032 through CPI Feedback within the Service Information Management System (SIMSi). Repair instructions will then be provided.
