During the next service interval of gensets with S/N:9Y2 prefix alternators, check and ensure the evidence of crimping on all power cable lugs for the engines listed above.
Proper crimping of power cable lugs eliminates excess vibration and noise from the generator and also improves the service life. Refer to Illustration 1 for hexagonal crimp indentation on power cable lugs.
