Pistons and Connecting Rods - Disassemble

Start By:

  1. Remove the pistons, liners, and connecting rods. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pistons, Liners, and Connecting Rods - Remove".

  1. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device onto connecting rod (1). The weight of connecting rod (1) and piston/liner (2) is approximately 31kg (69 lb). Remove connecting rod (1) and the piston from liner (2).

  2. Remove O-rings (3) from liner (2).

  3. Use Tooling (B) to remove the retaining ring (4). Remove wrist pin (5) and remove connecting rod (6) from piston (7).

  4. Use Tooling (C) to remove piston rings (8) from piston (7).

  5. Remove pin from oil ring (9) and remove ring by hand.
