New Longer V-Belt Used For 3126 Truck Engines{1357}

Usage:

3126 (1WM, 7AS) Truck Engines

Description of Change: A new V-Belt was added to the water pump drive group for the 3126 Truck Engines. This new V-Belt is longer than the previous V-Belt. This change is being made to eliminate assembly problems and to prevent over tensioning of the belt.

Adaptable To: A new 036-6775 V-Belt replaces the previous 061-8384 V-Belt in the 120-6657 Pump Drive Group for the 3126 Truck Engines. This V-Belt eliminates assembly problems and prevents over tensioning of the belt. The water pump belt is difficult to removestall over the large rubber damper. The longer 036-6775 V-Belt makes the removalstallation easier to accomplish. The new v-belt is used after 1WM04888 and can be used for service for all earlier models.

Refer to the following illustration. The belt (1) must be looped over the back of the water pump belt pulley (2) on the crank and slid down over the large rubber damper (3) (the viscous damper has much more clearance).

(2) Water pump belt pulley.
(3) Rubber damper.
