The slave piston clearance setting for 1998 C-12 (9NS) Truck Engines has been changed from slave piston clearance setting for 1996 and 1997 C-12 (1YN) Truck Engines. The new slave piston clearance setting for 1998 C-12 (9NS) Truck Engines is 1.02 ± 0.08 mm (0.040 ± 0.003 in). The slave piston clearance setting for 1996 and 1997 C-12 (1YN) Truck Engines remains at 1.14 ± 0.08 mm (0.045 ± 0.003 in). This change is being made in order to optimize braking performance with 1998 C-12 (9NS) Truck Engine components.

The initial edition of the Systems Operation, Testing And Adjusting Module, RENR1323, for C-10 (8YS) and C-12 (9NS) Truck Engines shows an incorrect value for the slave piston clearance setting on Page 43. Please update your module to show the new slave piston clearance setting for 1998 C-12 (9NS) Truck Engines. This module is being revised to show the correct value.
