Introduction
This Special Instruction will guide you through the procedure to replace the circuit breaker for the jacket water heater. This new circuit breaker will improve the reliability of the jacket water heater.

Use only proper tools and observe all precautions that pertain to the use of those tools. Failure to follow these procedures can result in personal injury. The following procedures should also be observed.

Replacement Procedure for the Circuit Breaker
When servicing or repairing electric power generation equipment:
Failure to do so could result in personal injury or death. |
Note: Isolate the generator before beginning any type of work. Ensure proper Lock Out-Tag Out procedures are followed at all times while work is being performed on the machine. Lock out generator before beginning any type of work.
- Open the generator set breaker and activate the emergency stop.
- Disconnect the battery cables and the auxiliary power supply for the battery charger and heaters.
- Locate the MCB12 circuit breaker on the panel chassis.
- Disconnect wire 132- and wire 134- from the terminals (1) .

- Remove MCB12 from the DIN rail by placing a small flat blade screwdriver into the spring loaded latch (2) .
- Install the 286-4745 Circuit Breaker into the opening and ensure that the circuit breaker is locked into the DIN rail.
- Reinstall wire 132- and wire 134- on the circuit breaker terminals (1) .
- Reconnect any power supplies or auxiliary supplies that were disconnected in Step 2.
- Verify that the jacket water is fully functional and operating correctly.
