Automatic Shut-Off Systems Not Recommended On Mobile Earthmoving Equipment {7418,7403}

Usage:

All Caterpillar Earthmoving Equipment

Some stationary engine installations involve the use of an automatic shut-off system. Owners of earthmoving equipment sometimes request that automatic engine shut-off systems be installed on mobile earthmoving machines. Caterpillar Inc. DOES NOT recommend the installation of an automatic engine shut-off on mobile earthmoving equipment. The control of engine shut-down, and engine-related systems, should be at the discretion of the operator.

Systems such as EMS that warn of high temperature, low oil pressure, or other conditions are desirable; but such systems should not include an automatic shutoff circuit.
