Use Care When Positioning Turbocharger Compressor Housing {1052,1060}

Usage:

3516 Industrial ( 27Z ),
Marine ( 29Z ),
Generator Set ( 25Z ),
And Vehicular ( 28Z ) Engines

Use care when positioning the turbocharger compressor housing on the turbocharger cartridge on the above engines. Aluminum shavings can be a result of contact between the compressor housing and the compressor diffuser. The presence of aluminum cuttings in the air intake system could result in damage to the engine.

When positioning the compressor housing for correct alignment with the air intake piping, loosen the compressor housing clamp bolts just enough to loosen the clamps that fasten the compressor housing to the cartridge. Do not loosen the clamps too much or the compressor housing could come off the cartridge pilot and damage the compressor wheel. While pulling the compressor housing away from the cartridge, carefully rotate the housing to the desired position. Then tighten the clamp bolts to correct torque.
