New Heavy-Duty Air Cleaner Groups Available {1051}

Usage:

3508 ( 1ZF ),
3512 ( 3YF ),
3516 ( 25Z, 4XF ) Generator Set Engines

New heavy-duty air cleaners are available for the highest ratings of the above models. The new 9Y7667 Air Cleaner Group includes a precleaner, while the new 9Y7666 Air Cleaner Group does not. Both new air cleaners include the new 9Y7665 Air Cleaner Assembly. The new air cleaner assembly will allow the required air flow with less restriction. It will also allow the normal filter change interval to be reached.

The precleaner uses a cycloning effect to remove dirt from the air. A valve automatically eliminates dirt that accumulates at the bottom of the precleaner. The valve is rubber and is held in the closed position by a slight vacuum when the engine is running. When the engine is stopped, the weight of the accumulated dirt can cause the valve to open and release the dirt. The valve can also be manually opened by pinching the rubber valve to remove dirt. The valve is protected by a cover. This valve should be periodically checked for correct operation and for obstructions.

Hardware to mount and connect the new air cleaner groups are not available. Piping to connect the air cleaner to the turbocharger inlet and mounting of the air cleaners must be done the dealer or customer.
