Maintenance Inspection Of Emergency Shutdown Systems Required Every 1000 Hours {7400}

Usage:

3600 Family Of Engines

Reference: Operation and Maintenance Management Manuals for 3600 Family of Engines; SEBU6121-01, SEBU6122-01, SEBU6227, SEBU6228-01.

The above Operation and Maintenance Management Manuals for the 3600 Family of Engines recommend that the engine shutoff controls and alarms be checked for proper operation every 1000 hours. These systems MUST be checked and the air and fuel shutoffs be operated at the 1000 hour maintenance interval. Additional system inspection and testing may be done at shorter hour intervals if maintenance schedules permit.

Failure to inspect and maintain the emergency shutdown systems can cause faulty operation and severe engine damage.

This includes the testing of the emergency shutdown buttons and engine shutoffs. Using the emergency shutdown buttons to shut down the engine at the 1000 hour interval will ensure that the emergency shutdown circuits are complete, as well as exercise the air and fuel shutoffs. The air shutoff and the emergency shutdown button must be reset after testing is complete and prior to engine startup.
