Air Conditioning Service Tooling{0757,0786,7320}

Usage:

Ten new service tools are available for servicing air conditioners on all Caterpillar products. These tools provide the capability to test the complete system, repair the compressors, collect and recycle refrigerant, and charge systems.

These tools, listed in the chart, supplement or replace existing air conditioning service tools and enable dealers to provide comprehensive and more efficient service. The recovery and recycling cart and automatic charging cart are of special interest to dealers.

The recovery and recycling cart provides a vacuum to remove all of the refrigerant from the system. The refrigerant is accumulated in a tank. When the tank is full, the cart cleans and dries the refrigerant for reuse. This cart prevents refrigerant from being released to the atmosphere. The release of refrigerant to the atmosphere is prohibited in some areas. It is an increasing worldwide environmental concern and is not recommended by Caterpillar Inc.

The automatic charging cart is used after the recovery and recycling cart. It provides a higher vacuum to insure complete moisture removal. It then automatically charges the system with the desired amount of refrigerant.

Detailed information about each tool and its use is included in the "Air Conditioning and Heating Service Manual," SENR3334-01 which will be available in August of 1989.
