Engine Oil Bypass Valve - Remove and Install

Usage:

3054B 5MF

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Remove" for the correct procedure.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Remove two bolts (1) that fasten the engine oil relief valve to the engine oil pump.

  1. Remove bolt (3) that holds engine oil relief valve (4) in position.

  1. Remove engine oil relief valve (4) and the gasket from the engine.

  1. Disconnect oil tube (2) and remove the O-ring seals from the oil tube.

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

  1. Install new O-ring seals on oil tube (2) and connect oil tube (2) to the engine oil pump.

  1. Place the new gasket in position and install engine oil relief valve (4) on the engine.

  1. Install bolt (3) that holds engine oil relief valve (4) in position. Tighten bolt (3) to a torque of 44 N·m (33 lb ft).

  1. Install two bolts (1) that fasten the engine oil relief valve to the engine oil pump.

End By: Install the engine oil pan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pan - Install" for the correct procedure.
