Some Force Is Needed To Turn The Drive Shaft In All Tyrone Gear-Type Pumps; New Torque Value For Body Bolts Of Tyrone Gear-Type Pumps{5073}

Usage:

All Tyrone Gear-Type Pumps

Description of Change: The drive shaft in Tyrone gear pumps can not be turned easily by hand. Approximately 10 to 20 lb ft (14 to 25 N.m) of torque is needed to turn the drive shaft of pumps in which the parts are not worn too much. Always check the amount of torque needed to turn the drive shaft before the pump is installed on a machine.

The torque for the body bolts of Tyrone gear pumps has changed. The chart that follows shows the correct torque value to use on specific size bolts that hold a pump together. The new torque values will be added to the Service Manual at the next revision.

Adaptable To: All Tyrone gear pumps. Any time service work is done on a machine equipped with a Tyrone gear pump check the torque of the body bolts and change it to the new value.
