Sender Unit For Engine Oil Pressure Gauge Moved To New Location On Truck Cab{7455}

Usage:

3208 Engines In Ford Trucks

Description of Change: On 3208 Engines used in Ford Trucks, the oil pressure gauge sender is now installed in a location on the truck cab. Formerly, the sender unit was installed in the oil cooler base on the engine. The new location keeps the sender unit away from engine vibration, which has caused separation of the sender body from the stem in some conditions. This separation permits loss of engine oil, and can cause engine failure.

Adaptable To: All earlier 3208 Engines (40S and 32Y) in Ford medium and heavy trucks, Series F, B, C and CT. Also, Series L, LT, LTS, LN and LNT with city delivery instrument clusters. See the topic "Conversion".

CONVERSION: Complete information for conversion of earlier trucks is given in Ford Technical Service Bulletin Number 164, August 22, 1978, on Pages 9 through 13. The Ford Bulletin shows a list of the Ford part numbers needed, and illustrations for installation.
